First Position

See what was checked before you hire.

Other boards show you what an instructor typed into a form. This one separates what the issuing school confirmed from what is still self-reported, and shows whether insurance is in date today.

3/5profiles confirmed with the issuing school

The largest independent board in this industry states in its own FAQ that it does not vet instructors. That is the whole reason this exists.

Nobody has signed up yet, so everything below is representative — shaped like real entries so the mechanism can be read. The moment one real profile or role exists, this board shows that instead and this line disappears.

Instructors

Flush to the line means confirmed. Indented means they told us.

A confirmed credential means we contacted the school named on it and they said yes. A self-reported one means we have not, and we would rather show you that than pretend.

For instructors

Free, always

Prove your certificate once. We hold it, and we tell you before your insurance runs out.

  • Your credential, confirmed. State what you hold once. We contact whoever issued it and record what they said, with the date and who asked. After that it is simply true, and every studio sees the same answer.
  • Insurance that does not lapse quietly. A policy that expires is a month you cannot legally teach. We hold the date and warn you sixty days out and again in the last week, rather than after a studio finds out.
  • One profile, every role. Apply without retyping your history into a fourth form. Studios see the confirmed version, not the version you typed.

For studios

Read a credential you did not have to take on trust.

  • Post a role. A few minutes, and it states the credential bar rather than a vague wish. Roles that name a bar get applicants who clear it.
  • See who actually clears it. Applicants are marked confirmed or self-reported, and insurance expiry is shown as a date rather than a tick. You decide; we do not filter for you.
  • Know before they lapse. For instructors already teaching for you, the same expiry tracking. It is the difference between finding out in March and finding out at an inspection.

Free for instructors. Always. Charging the person looking for work is how this industry’s worst behaviour starts, and in some countries it is a criminal offence. First Position takes money from studios, for listings, and from nobody else.
